Alkalise day 1 – Juicing, Paleo and lots of cooking

Today was the first day of my 7 Day Alkalise Challenge. It was an early start to give me time to juice before I went to the gym which I do at 6.30am. The gym has become a bit of a ritual now and on my rest day (Wed), I miss it, but don’t miss the early morning alarm call.

On waking I had a cup of warm water with coconut oil in it to get my metabolism kick started, followed by an amazing homemade juice.

It was 2 kale leaves, ¾ of a cucumber, peeled lemon and a peeled apple. I made double for my 4pm juice.

When I got home from the gym  I had some baked chicken a broccoli with ground flax seed on top to keep my omega 3’s up.

Lunch was poached salmon salad, with olive oil and lemon salad.

Diner was Cajun Cod, on an Asparagus, Broccoli and Heirloom Carrot stir fry. Dead easy, just fry some Garlic, Ginger and Chilli in Coconut Oil, then chuck in all the veg. The Cod was rubbed in a spice mix of 1tbs Paprika, 1 tsp Coriander seed, 1/2 tsp sea sold. I heated some Coconut Oil in a pan, sautéed for 1.5 mins each side and then in the oven at 180 for 8 mins, or until it flakes with a fork. Nom Nom!

After dinner, more cooking for tomorrow!

So, how do I feel. I started the day literally zinging, but now feeling a bit heady. Bed at 10pm, 4 pumps of topical magnesium behind the knees and a 5.30am alarm call to wake up to!
